Helping Lito and Lita with their yard

Today was a fun day for the kids and for us as parents.  We went down to lito and lita's house to help them with their yard and to play.  Hans was able to work on cleaning out the tramp with Lito and his dad while Liesl got to play in the garage with a play kitchen and pretend cook for everyone with Lita.  I always love the time we spend with them, the kids learn so much and have so much fun.

Wednesday, March 21, 2012 Viewing 9:45 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. Funeral Service 10:30 a.m. Burial at National Cemetery 1:00 p.m. Luncheon at Grace's recreation room @ 3663 Buchanan, Riverside 92503 Grandpa, Paul, Hans and Lito at Hans baby blessing July 2006 Grandpa Acosta dies Saturday the 17th in California.  His wife had died in September and now he is with her again.  I am so grateful for the knowledge that he is in a better place and that we will see him again.  Today is his funeral and our family couldn't be there but we are thinking of my dad and his siblings as they say goodbye to their dad.  I have such great memories of him and nana visiting us in most of the countries we lived in and expecially the heart with a coin in it, he would make and give to us.  I sure will miss him, but I know he will be watching over us.

Today was a fun lazy day.  We decided to take the kids sledding, we just were not quite sure if there was enough snow to do it.  We went to a place in Lehi that still had enough snow on the hill to sled.  This was the first time for Hans, Liesl and Gabi to sled.  They all had so much fun and I was so happy that they were not scared.  As a matter of fact, they couldn't wait and before I could even get the camera out Liesl and Hans were half way down the hill. Paul went down a couple of times and I even went down with Liesl and by myself.  There was no evidence of that becuase I am the one usually taking the pictures.  But I did go and it was great.   I am so grateful for moments like these were we can spend time as a family.  Something so simple and cheap is so much fun.  These are definatly memories that I hope the kids will remember. 

2nd Snow of the Season

We got our second snow of the season in March.  The kids have been waiting for it to snow this winter, but we have not had such luck, so you can imagine their excitement when it snowed a lot today.  After Hans got back from school the kids were ready to go and play outside.  They had so much fun.

Happy Birthday Paul!

Today was Paul's birthday and it was fun.  We started out the day by going to the Nickle Arcade in Orem, Ut.  That seems to be a tradition that we do for every birthday.  After going there, we came home to have dinner and birthday cake.  The kids had so much fun singing to their dad and then licking off the candles after he blew them out.

Happy Valentines Day!

Today we had a monthly FHE with all of my family in Salem, UT.  It was so much fun seeing all of the Acosta side family.  Those there were my brother Dave and his family, his older daughter Mackenzie with her family, my sister Yvonne and her family and my parents.  We got there and had a little lesson about Jesus and then we ate.  After all of the eating, we exchanged valentines.  The cousins gave each other valentine cards.  I was so excited to give my valentines this year becuase I had made them from scrap.  I had gotten the idea from a site called Pinterest and made them.  I was pretty proud of my work.  The night was great just hanging out with family.
