In Memory of Nana

Nana and Grandpa at our wedding Dec 2000

Top: At our wedding, Bottom: When they visited us in Panama City for Christmas
Today we heard some sad news that Nana, my grandmother passed away.  I am so grateful that I have the knowledge that I will be able to see her again.  I know that she is in a better place and happy.  Our family didn't see her very often, but when we did it was such a great experience.  I loved visiting her in Ensenada, California with my sister and talking with her and spending time at the beach.  I will miss her.

First Day of Kindergarten

Today was Hans first day of Kindergarten.  He was so excited to go in, he couldn't wait.  I was a different story, I should have taken a lot of kleenex, but I was so excited for him.  They lined up in front of the door and the teacher came out to get him and they went inside.  What a feeling of happiness, but also sadness.  This was the beginning of not being with all my children 24/7.  At that moment, I just hoped that Paul and I had taught him everything he needed to know while being away from us.  The first day was a sucess and he loved it.  I look forward to a year of fun things for Hans and see the things he will learn.

Easter Activities

We had so much fun this easter. The kids really had a lot of experiences to enjoy this holiday. We first started this holiday by going to the Utah Valley University Extravaganza. The kids were able to do some fun crafts, eat some good cookies, play on some bouncy slides and have an easter egg hunt. They definatly had a wonderul time and were exhausted by the time we finished. Later that week, we got to decorate easter eggs so that we could have a fun easter egg hunt on easter. The kids really enjoyed mixing the colors and creating their master pieces. Easter Sunday the kids woke up to wonderful easter baskets that the Easter Bunny had left for them. Even baby Gabi enjoyed her basket. After getting that out of our systems we were able to go to church and learn more about Jesus and the sacrifices that he made fun us. It was a great time to help the kids understand that Christ died for us but ressurected and that is why we celebrate Easter. That afternoon, I prepared my first easter feast. That was so much fun for me to prepare the ham, potatoes and rolls. We finished the day off with our easter egg hunt in our back yard. These are the traditions that I hope we will all remember and cherish.

Liesl's first bike

We bought a bike at kid to kid and then went and got some training wheels from the store a presto we got liesl her first bike for cheap. She was a little nervous riding it the first time, but after a while she loved it and would not get off. She is happy and I am happy that I don't have to purchase a bike for a lot of money. I tell you kid to kid has great deals.

Flying a Kite

This was the first time that Hans flew a kite. It was hard for him to get it up, so we did that for him but once it was in the air he loved holding it. He was so proud of being able to do it.
