Happy New Year!

We are so excited for a new year. I love how every year we can better ourselves and do new things. I am so happy that we have added Gabi to our family and that this year she will have all new firsts. I am happy that we can all share that together.

Hans Preschool Christmas Program

We have been very fortunate to have Hans in a wonderful preschool this year.  He has learned so many things to prepare him for kindergarten.  Our family had a chance to all go and watch him and his friends during their Christmas program and it was the cutest things I have ever seen in my life.  I am so excited to continue going to things like this for my children.  It has been very fun watching Hans go from a toddler to a kid and watching him soak in all that he learns.

Blessing from Heaven

We finally welcomed our third child named Gabriele (pronounced Gabriela) Rebecca Otte into our family on November 1st, 2010 5:21am.   She weighed 7 pounds 11 ounces and was 22 inches long.  She definately is a joy to have around and rounds out our family quite well.  Hans and Liesl love to talk with her and give her kisses.  We feel so blessed to our Heavenly Father for this baby.

Fishing 101-Spring Lake Trout Farm (Payson, UT)

Today Paul and I decided to take the kids to go fishing for the first time.  Paul had gone once and I had gone once but by no means were we experts.  Hans and Liesl had never gone and they had a blast.  There is this Trout farm in Payson were you can go and they provide you with everything you need to go fishing.  The only thing you purchase is the fish you catch per pound.  We got there and just got right in fishing.  Hans immediatly caught the first fish.  Liesl also was quick to learn how to hold the rod.  She definatly enjoyed reeling in the line.  I had a try at it, but was not sucessful in getting a fish until the very end.  What an experience we had.  Hans and Liesl got the biggest fish of the seven we caught.  Hans got a 2 1/2 pounder which was the biggest.  After catching the fish, the young girl who is the daughter of the owner, filleted and gutted the fish for us.  That was an interesting process, but very educational.  I am so glad that we did this today.  This is an experience that my children and I will never forget.  Even though we are not experts at fishing, we all had a blast, my children learned a lot about fish, and most importantly we spent time as a family.

Liberty Park with Paul's family

We were able to visit with Paul's family this month.  Paul's oldest brother Marc and his wife were down here from Alaska, and Julie his sister came from Texas.  We decided to spend some time at Liberty Park in Salt Lake City.  I had been to that park once, but never knew how fun it could be.  We sat at a picnic table right next to a park and a splash pool and ate fried chicken made by Paul's dad and fun sides.  After resting from the food for a little bit we walked over to a water area where the kids loved to play.  We didn't have their bathing suites, but it was so hot we all just got wet.  It was a fun day and it was fun to spend time with family that we hardly ever see.
