True Friends

You know that you have true friends when you can get together after not seening each other for more than a year and pick up where you left off.  Tonight was the funnest night I have had in a long time.  All we did was catch up and eat dinner.  Our children played wonderfully if that is even a word.  Things were like normal.  That is what I call true friendship.  I am so glad there are those kind of people in our life.  What a good end to a wonderful day.  If you don't have friends like that, I urge everyone to find them.

I Am Not A Reader Challenge

For those of you who know me quite well, you know that I do not like to read.  The only book that I will read is the Book of Mormon.  But this year I have decided to take on the challenge of reading as many books as I can possibly read.  This will require me to make time, but who knows, maybe I will feel a little bit more relaxed.  As I do this I will post the book that I am reading and my thoughts.  Hopefully I will learn a lot of things that I can share.  Wish me luck!

What a great reminder

Yesturday was our first primary activity for the year in our ward here in springville.  What a wonderful turn out we had and a wonderful time we experienced.  There was a great breakfast cooked by the bishopric followed by getting to know you time.  The leaders did there get to know yous and then the teachers had an opportunity to do the same.  The one thing that I thought was the best was the packets that were provided for the children, done by my second counselor.  In these packets there was a Journal, scripture pencil, prayer rock and a little note saying...

Don't forget Your PJ'S
AS the day come to an end,
and the sun begins to set,
there are 3 things you mustn't forget
PRAY to the Father up above
and give thanks to Him who send His Son.
Keep a record in your JOURNAL
of all the wonderful things you have done.
Read the SCRIPTURES, learn of prophets wise.
Do these things and happy you will be
in the morning when you rise.

What a wonderful reminder to me of the simple things that we can do to be happy in this life.  It was such a wonderful activity.  One that not only helped the children learn more about what Heavenly Father want us to do, but on that would remind us leaders of the things that we need to do.

A Good start to a New Year

What a wonderful experience meeting my whole family at the MTC to watch my parents get set apart for yet another mission. This would be there 3rd one. What an incredible spirit in the room we were all in as we listened to the blessings that my father and mother both received. What a great picture to them to see all of the children with their spouses and kids. It really makes me see how important families are. The year started out great with this experience. I know that my kids are young to understand what their grandparents are doing, but I know that they will always know that their grandparents love the Lord and are doing what the Lord would have them do. Yes my parents are missing out on a lot of stuff, but that is o.k. becuase in the end they will be rewarded for their sacrifice.
