Today was a special day for my sister and her family.  Her new baby, Micah had his baby blessing in American Fork, Ut.  It was so special to be there to spend time with family and also to be able to see Micah.  It was nice becuase my parents got to be there.  After sacrament we went to my sisters house and had a wonderful time eating and talking.  I am so grateful for family and the opportunities we have to spend together. 

Star of the Week

In Hans's kindergarten class each kid is a star of the week.  They bring a poster that they have made with the help of their parents do display for the week.  This week is Hans turn and he is excited.  We made the poster and now it is hanging in his classroom.  I think that is a great idea they do, that way these kids feel special and their friends get to know them. 

1st snow of the season

I cannot believe that we are almost at the end of January and we finally got our first snow.  It was so beautiful to see it fall.  The kids were so excited they wanted to hurry and play in it and they did.

The Whole Family Together

Today was a fun day for our family.  It started out  with us going down to Salem, Ut to go to mom and dad's homecoming talk.  When we got there we saw all of my family.  Those there were- My older brother David, his wife Danielle, Mackenzie with her husband Taft and baby Jack, Courtney and Alex, My second brother Carlos and his wife Kristen, Kaitlin, Eric and Ashley, my sister Yvonne and her husband Mike,Cris, Yessenia, Marcus, Toby, Tommy and Micah and our family.  It was so special for my prarents to have all of their children there for this important moment.  To me it was great that all of us where there and I was so grateful my children were seeing the great example of serving missions that their grandparents have shown them.  After sacrament we all met up at my sisters house for a family get together.  It was fun to talk and to eat and enjoy each others company.  We all have our own lives and families and things to take care of but at the end of the day we all came together as a family and had fun. 

Welcome home Lito and Lita!

My parents have been out on missions for a long time.  Today they came home from their third mission from Mexico City.  It was so much fun waiting for them at the airport and seeing my brother and sister and their families.  The kids were so excited to see their lito and lita again after so long.  Gabi had never met them before so that was a special moment.  It sure is great to have them home.  We have been blest to have them be able to go on so many missions, but are hoping that they will stay home for a while.  What a great example to my children they have been. 

A very important lesson from my son

The toothfairy had come and left Hans his money for his tooth.  It was so nice to see how excited he was but the best part came after.  We had been telling Hans that he would get money but that once he got it he would need to pay tithing.  I really wasn't sure if he had been listening and I was worried he was going to be mad giving up part of his money, but when the day come to pay it, the best lesson was taught to me by him.  He came to me and said, " mom I need to put all my money in my tithing envelope"  I was taken back on the fact that he was going to put all the money in for tithing.  I explained to him that we would take 10% out for the Lord and that the rest of it was his to buy something.  The face he made was one of excitment that he would be able to have some money for himself.  At that moment I realized that he was not expecting to have money to spend and that he truely was willing to give everything he had gotten to the Lord.  That is one lesson that I will never forget.  I know that I am the parent and that I am here to teach my children, but I am grateful that they are teaching me as well. 

Hans lost his 1st tooth

Today was a special day for Hans becuase right before he went to school his tooth came out.  This will be his first one ever and he was so exicted.  He couldn't wait to go to school and tell his teacher and friends and most importantly he was excited to have the tooth fairy come and leave him some money.  I can't believe he is getting so old.
